All children are valued and respected as individuals and encouraged to achieve their full potential in a safe and secure preschool environment.
We offer a ‘Play’ based program based on the principles and outcomes outlined in the Victorian Early Years and Development Framework. We believe children learn through ‘Play’ by developing important life skills such as sharing, negotiating, taking turns, conflict resolution and communication. Through observations of children, family involvement and opportunities for intentional teaching, the program aims to promote each child’s confidence, sense of belonging, inquisitive nature, critical thinking and social skills.
Opportunities in the areas of; Expressive Arts, Literacy, Science, Dramatic/Imaginative Play and Maths will assist children to practice and enhance such skills in a stimulating, safe and secure environment.
We believe in developing and maintaining respectful and caring relationships within our preschool, families, staff members and the wider community.
The staff at TRY Diggers Rest Preschool attend Professional Development and First Aid courses to enhance our knowledge and keep updated with current Early Childhood practices.
As per the preschool’s Behaviour Policy, discipline of children is in a positive non-punitive manner. Positive reinforcement will aid in developing the child’s positive self-image.
