This week’s feature service is Playford Children’s Centre: our amazing service located in South Australia!
TRY Playford is a large service that has a strong focus on sustainability and the environment which encourages the children to learn about the spaces around them. The beautiful service includes outdoor areas with large gum trees that the children love to explore! They have been working hard to maintain a worm farm which educates children about waste, composting systems and how they can help to break down their food scraps in order to improve the soil and improve the environment around them.
Playford Children’s Centre encourages the “learn through play” motto which allows the children to educate make sense of the world through sensory activities. This learning style prompts children to develop social and cognitive skills. It is also proven to help develop traits such as independence, team work and self confidence which can encourage the children to engage in new experiences and environments.
Playford has a great relationship between the staff and families. The families and children’s voices are valued through respectful, open and honest interactions. The educators there are well loved throughout the service, the families and the community.
Playford Children’s centre runs from Monday to Friday from 6:45am to 6pm and caters from ages 6 weeks to school age in four different rooms.
