Today, #TRYNorthWestBrunswick held a special lunch and fundraiser to celebrate Sophie’s recovery from Leukaemia! Sophie is a child attending our 3-year-old program and it was great to see how the community have come together in these tough times to provide love and support for Sophie and her family!
This fundraiser has been a brilliant example of how the community at North West Brunswick Kindergarten as well as the wider community have worked together to support each other! Many of our educators have donated items to the raffle and/or purchased and sold raffle tickets to help us to fundraise. Organisations such as Woolworths Brunswick, Coburg Pharmacy 4 Less, Sandy Carr from Hope Street and Heartbeat Epworth also helped in supporting this event.
A special thank you to Robert Saitta, who volunteers at the Epworth, and had a huge contribution to this cause by selling raffle tickets and sourcing prizes.
This Fundraising event began with the love and support from NWBK educators Maria, Michi, Sandra and Jamaica. At the end of the day $787 was raised and that will all go towards children, like Sophie, who are faced with the trauma of cancer.
We thank Sophie’s family for telling her story and it was great to see the community come together, once more, but this time in happiness and celebration!
