We believe children need to be stimulated and encouraged through a balance of structured and spontaneous play, with routines that support each child’s learning about self, peers and environment. We nurture the child’s natural curiosity and drive to explore and discover.
We run an Indoor/Outdoor program whenever possible and have a productive continually evolving relationship with our local Primary Schools ensuring we maintain best practice in School Transition and Readiness. We have an Open Door Policy where parents/families are encouraged to spend time
The educational program is underpinned by the following principles:
• That early education in the years before formal school provides a link between home learning and the curriculum based school learning.
• That children are individuals who bring prior knowledge and experience to the program and approach learning and life in unique ways.
• That play is a child’s natural way of expressing, sharing, extending and modifying accumulated knowledge, skills and attitudes.
• That learning is a social activity and that children learn best when they can share their ideas, as equals, with each other (peers) and adults (teaching, mentoring, guiding, collaborating).
